99 refugees intercepted by Turkish Coastguard

  Over the last two days, 99 refugees have been intercepted near Çeşme by Turkish Coast Guard. Attempting to cross over to the Greek island of Chios, it has been reported that they were first brought to the Alaçatı Coast Guard station, and were later transferred to the Izmir Immigration Office. The report indicates that those leaving Turkey were from the following nationalities: Afghanistan, Iran, Georgia, Nigeria, Cameroon, Iraq and Syria.
