Pharmacist chambers accuse AFAD of unkept promise

  • Date: Mar 23 2016 Time: 22:48
  • Description:
Following an unkept promise from AFAD - of which said that pharmacists would be reimbursed for medicines provided to Syrian refugees - 12 pharmacist chambers met in Ankara. Here, they verbalised their concerns, explaining that "all responsibilities would belong to AFAD if problems were to arise in the supply of medicines to refugees, unless concrete steps were taken in relation to this protocol". They noted that they are reaching their supplying limit, and explaining that part of the problem is that all given medicines need to go through 5 institutional levels - Immigration, AFAD, Governorship, SGK and Ministry of Health - making medicines increasingly inaccessible to refugees.
